The Age have reported that despite backroom wrangling at the club, Richmond has extended their sponsorship deal with the Suncorp Insurance backed automotive insurer Bingle for another season worth $1 million.

The deal was announced just after the signing of Neil Balme as the club’s general manager of football.

Bingle has been a been co-major sponsor of Richmond along with automaker Jeep. Its contract with the insurer was due to expire in November, after six years on the back of the Tigers playing guernseys.

“We have had a strong relationship with Suncorp over a long period of time and we are pleased Bingle will remain a major sponsor in 2017,” said Richmond chief Brendon Gale.

“Bingle is a proud sponsor of the Richmond Football Club and will continue to be for 2017 AFL season,” Suncorp spokesman Jake Krausmann is quote in The Age.

The club has now secured their two major sponsors for the 2017 season with Jeep having one more season to go on their estimated $1.2 million a year deal to remain as their front-of-guernsey sponsor.

Superannuation fund HostPlus has already extended their coaches sponsorship through to the end of 2018.
