Canterbury-Bankstown Bulldogs have announced that major sponsor Jaycar has extended its commitment for three further seasons until the end of the 2015 campaign.
The electronics firm’s managing director Gary Johnston said: “I think our association with the Doggies has lifted our public profile and we are certainly better known around the community because of this association.
“I have gained an extraordinary amount of respect for the club. The Bulldogs have made some great signings this season and I think the club is showing a lot of success at the moment both on and off the field and I am looking forward to seeing more of that in the coming years.”
Jaycar have been major sponsors of the Bulldogs since 2009 and club CEO Todd Greenberg said the new deal was “fantastic news”.
“We are very proud of our association with Jaycar, they have shown an extraordinary amount of faith and commitment over the last four years and we are very much looking forward to the next three years together,” said Greenberg.
It hasn’t all been plain sailing. Early in the relationship Johnston took out a newspaper advertisement calling for then NRL boss David Gallop to resign over his handling of the Melbourne Storm salary cap affair. The club was forced to distance itself from the outburst.
