Sydney will host the 2013 Athletics Australia senior national championships, while the junior titles are headed for Perth.
Athletics Australia announced Tuesday that the 91st Australian Athletics Championships will be held across four days from April 11-14. Sydney last hosted the event in 2006.
Athletics Australia said it selected a bid by Destination New South Wales and the Sydney Olympic Park Authority to host a number of athletics events in the coming years, including continued support for the Sydney Track Classic.
The nationals will also be selection trials for the 14th IAAF world championships in Moscow in August 2013.
Meanwhile, the Australian Junior Athletics Championships will be held in Perth for the first time, from March 12-17.
The hosting is part of a four-year deal agreed to with the Western Australian Government that commenced with the 2012 Go for 2&5 Perth Track Classic earlier this year.
Athletics Australia will announce dates for other meets to be hosted as part of the 2013 National Athletics Series, including the 2013 Australian Athletics Tour, in the coming weeks.
