International sports business market SPORTEL has announced its return to Rio de Janeiro for the 2013 spring market, which will be held from 11-13 of March, at the Sofitel Copacabana in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil.

The inaugural SPORTELRio, held earlier this year, played host to nearly 600 registered attendees from the international sports content and new media industries.

“With the upcoming Rio 2016 Olympic Games and the 2014 FIFA World Cup, we had high hopes for SPORTELRio 2012, but this market exceeded our expectations by far,” said Amparo Di Fede, General Manager of SPORTEL.

SPORTEL Markets (SPORTELMonaco, SPORTELAmerica, SPORTELRio, SPORTELAsia) are a globally known business venue for sports and media executives for the past 23 years.
