Tokyo 2020 announced Mizuno Corporation as an official partner in its bid to host the Olympic and Paralympic Games.

The leading sports goods manufacturer joins ASICS, DESCENTE, JTB and Kinki Nippon Tourist in supporting Tokyo’s bid.

“I firmly believe that Japan will be revitalised if our nation hosts the Olympics and Paralympics half a century after Tokyo hosted the 1964 Games,” said Akito Mizuno, president of Mizuno Corporation. “In order to realise our dream, Mizuno Corporation will do anything possible to help bring the 2020 Games to Tokyo.”

Tsunekazu Takeda, president of the Tokyo 2020 bid committee, added: “With one year to go until the host city election, I am delighted to introduce a new official bid partner. Mizuno Corporation has enthusiastically agreed to help promote our campaign on behalf of this dynamic city.”
