Nic Ferraro – Founder and MD
Nic Ferraro is the Founder and Managing Director of Sports Business Insider and Sports Business Club. He has a number of years of corporate experience in marketing, strategy and customer experience, is a former treasurer for WUSA, and advisor to a Hyundai A-League bid consortium. He is a graduate of the University of Wollongong, an MBA student at the University of Technology, Sydney, and blogger on all things sportsbiz for Smart Company.
Charl Mynhardt – Events and Partnership Development Coordinator
I am a Masters Graduate from UTS with a corporate development and events background. I have participated in sports from a young age and have had the opportunity to represent at club and state level. My passion is in the business development, sponsorship activation and event management areas of the Sports Industry. My sports experience come from assisting with the operation and marketing of the Shute Shield with Sydney University rugby which gave me an opportunity to work with my favourite code. I have also had the opportunity to work with international athletes and events through Octagon where I assisted with the sponsorship activation, client and events management of their various accounts.
Connor Wright – Journalism Intern
Connor Wright is in the 4th year of a Media and Communications degree at the University of Sydney. He is currently interning with Sports Business Insider. Connor is a self-proclaimed sporting tragic as well as a passionate writer and upcoming journalist, he is hopeful of continuing to build his skills as a journalist through his contributions to Sports Business Insider.
Dylan Noronha – Direct Marketing Coordinator
Dylan Noronha is a current 3rd year Commerce Student at The University of Wollongong, majoring in Marketing and Public Relations. Dylan has a passion for sportsbiz and an interest in the mechanics that make it tick. He is also an avid St George Illawarra Dragons and Manchester United supporter and Sports Business Insider’s Direct Marketing Coordinator.
Bonita Mersiades – The Football Analyst
Bonita Mersiades is a consultant and writer, and has previously worked in strategic communications and policy roles in the government, sport and health sectors. She has extensive knowledge of domestic and international football as a former team manager of the Socceroos and Head of Corporate and Public Affairs with Football Federation Australia. She is a volunteer committee member with a local football club and with the Football Media Association.
Anthony Costa – Brand Sport
Anthony Costa is a writer, designer and illustrator living in Melbourne. His area of expertise is sports branding and identity.
Glenn Critchley – Sponsor Activate
Glenn Critchley is marketing manager for an international sport marketing agency based in Singapore. With a background in brand marketing, Glenn moved into sports sponsorship with Havas Sports & Entertainment in London where he worked across a variety of brands including adidas, Kia, Friends Provident & Yahoo. Following three years in London, he followed his fiancé to Singapore where he has been for the past 18 months. His expertise lies in strategy, activation and planning with a focus delivering a sponsorship that benefits the brand, the rights holder and the fan.
Paul Marcolin – Spike Creative
Paul Marcolin is a Director of Spike Creative. Together with his business partner Mick Russell, they have compiled more than 30 years of design and publishing experience and – with a desire to create a fresh design studio alternative – formed Spike Creative in 2004, today servicing many of Australia’s most successful and elite sporting teams and organisations.
Daryl Adair – Academic Games
Daryl Adair is Associate Professor of Sport Management at the University of Technology, Sydney. He convenes the Postgraduate Coursework Program for Sport Management students.
Yashraj Kshetry – SBI International
Yash is a recent graduate in Sports Management in Barcelona, Spain. Unable to make it as a professional footballer, he decided to pursue a career in the sports industry. His studies and work experiences in Europe have helped him understand several vital aspects of the sports business industry, specialising in the areas of sports event management, PR, media and broadcasting.
Georgina Cahill – Olympic Sports and Netball
Georgina is a recent journalism graduate with a love for sports writing. Living in Melbourne, Georgina is an avid AFL supporter who names Trent Cotchin as her favourite player. She also follows cricket and netball closely and plays netball competitively. Georgina loves to travel and fancies herself as a pretty good cook!
Lachlan Collins – AFL and Golf
Lachie Collins is a director of player management company SMA Sports Agents, and an avid sports fan, scratch golfer and race horse owner. He bases his opinions and views from playing, watching, listening and working in the sporting industry, and maintaining an active network of athletes and contacts in the business and operations of high profile sporting clubs that enable him to readily qualify his opinions with data from the ‘horse’s mouth’.
James Bijen – Rugby Union and Baseball
James Bijen is in the last semester of a Media, Culture and Communications Degree at Macquarie University. He is fanatical about all things sport, and is currently putting that passion to good use as an intern at Sports Business Insider.
Chris Chard – Rugby League
Chris is an experienced sports journalist who has written for a number of digital and print publications including The Roar, Rugby League Player Magazine, the QRL and US Sports Downunder. With a keen interest in the continually evolving brave new world of sports social media, he is a Rugby League diehard who keeps an eye on the US sports scene in his spare time.
Clint’s background is in daily, weekly and one-off series television production. This training has proved to be invaluable as he gains an understanding of how to manage much of the news and television production process.
Clint is enthused about working with new people and helping to create content for diverse audiences whilst indulging his passion for news and reporting.
